«I work on a continuing series of abstract vulvas called «Spread the Love Cunts». My idea is to flood the world with cunt-love. The «Love Cunts» come in different sizes and colors. In the past, «cunt» was a positive and powerful word. Etymologically it is related to «kin», «knowledge», «queen» and «country» and there is also a Hindu goddess called Kunti.»
Talaya Schmid is a freelance artist and art lecturer and holds a Master of Fine Arts from Goldsmith University of London. Her work operates at the intersections of art and activism. Talaya Schmid tufts Soft Sculptures, is a performance artist and practices a playful, intersectional feminism. She is co-founder and curator of Porny Days, an annual film and art festival on sexualities and gender since 2012. In the same year, she founded a feminist performance collective in London. From 2013 to 2017, she was the publishing director of the comic magazine Strapazin, where she is still an editor and president of the association. In 2014, Talaya Schmid cooked at the Milchbar at the F+F School of Art and Design, where she worked as an assistant in the Art program from 2015 to 2019. She is a lecturer and mentor at various art schools.
